The Daughters of the American Revolution is an active, volunteer women's service organization that supports many local community projects. The National Society, NSDAR, was organized in Washington, D.C., on October 11, 1890. On May 25, 1892, the Florida State Society, NSDAR, was created. In 1966, the Captain James Ormond Chapter, NSDAR, was organized.
